Early morning arrival in Bishkek and check in to the hotel; you will have some free time to rest and before the city sightseeing tour with your guide begins.
We start with visits to the Old square (Victory square), the Opera Theatre, Oak Park, Ala-Too square and Manas Monument (optional to see Lenin Monument just behind main square).
You have your choice of several oriental cafes that serve traditional native food (Navat, Jalal-Abad, Bukhara) for lunch or try something from the menu at the Sierra Coffee which serves more westernized meals.
After lunch we continue sightseeing with visits to the Philharmonic Concert Hall and Youth Avenue, you can also visit the famous shop “Tumar” which sells their own line of products made from traditional felt in a contemporary but natural nomadic style.
This day you will also visit Osh bazaar - it is one of the largest open markets, where you can find all kinds of traditional foods, such as dry fruits and nuts, kurut, fresh fruits and vegetables, sweets and local desserts. There are also textiles, leather goods, inexpensive souvenirs; you never know what you will find! You can take beautiful colorful pictures and also try some of the it, as well buy for yourself. The special section in the bazaar for souvenirs is called Kyyal, where you can buy small gifts for fair prices.
In the morning we transfer to the airport in Bishkek and fly to the southern city of Osh which is the oldest city in the nation. Upon arrival in Osh check into the hotel or guesthouse and settle in. The city tour will start directly afterwards. According to legend, Osh was founded by King Solomon ages ago and the city had an important position on the trading routes of the Great Silk Road.
To start the day we visit the UNESCO world heritage site Suleiman-Too mountain with its petroglyphs and the museum. Next we visit the Osh bazaar which is the largest in Asia with its historical roots dating back to the beginnings of silk road. Prices are negotiable so you can try your hand at bargaining with the sellers. Finally a stroll through the Park of Love, a spot popular for wedding photos.
You will have the chance to try local Osh samsa, which is a filled bread made in a tandoor oven and for dinner you will try local plov (a meat and rice dish) in the Chaihana (teahouse).
Overnight in the guest house.
You will visit local districts Uzbek and Kyrgyz and Park before departure back to Bishkek and then will have some free time to explore the area.
On arrival to Bishkek you will have another wonderful trip to the Ala-Archa National Park, where we take a small trek to the river, which is surrounded by high junipers on the mountains with snowy peaks. You can enjoy the fresh air and try the cold water coming down from the glaciers.
Afterwards we visit the Supara Complex - oriental restaurant serving up traditional foods along with ancient traditional Kyrgyz culture small museum.
Overnight at the hotel. Departure back home.
