Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Cholpon-Ata

We will meet you at the “Manas” airport. With a comfortable minibus we will drive to Cholpon-ata, which is located around stunning lake Issyk-kul. The way to Issyk-kul passes through Boom gorge, the Chu river and town of Balykchy. During this time you will enjoy the fascinating scenery of the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.
Arrive in Cholpon-ata and check-in to the hotel. After a break, we will have a walk along the lake.
As well You will visit the Ruh-ordo, named after famous Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, which unites the history and spiritual heritage of various cultures and nationalities of the world.
The ideological concept of the cultural center is striking in its depth: there are five white chapels on the territory of the complex, located exactly the same distance from each other. The only external difference between chapels are the symbols of different world religions.
"Rukh Ordo" is famous not only for its unusual architectural monuments, but also for the most beautiful pier on the shore of the lake. Then you will visit the petroglyphs, located between the northern and north-western outskirts of the city of Cholpon-Ata and the southern part of the Kungei Ala-Too range. In the area from east to west with a length of 4 km and a width of 2 km there are tens of thousands of stones (boulders) carried by mudflows from the mountain gorges of the Kungei Ala-Too Range.
Petroglyphs of Cholpon-Ata represent a grandiose open-air temple where religious rituals related to the spiritual world and the life of the nomadic population of Issyk-Kul were performed.
Objects and images of drawings are diverse: goats, deer, bulls, horses, dogs, wolves, etc. There are scenes from the life of predatory animals, numerous images of people and their activities. Most of the Cholpon-Ata petroglyphs date back to the 2nd millennium BC. However, there is also a legacy dating back to the 7th-3rd centuries BC.
Not far from the petroglyphs is a very interesting historical and local history museum, built in 1935. The main exposition of the museum represents the history of the Issyk-Kul region from ancient times to the present day, shows its nature, as well as the life of the Kyrgyz people. After a tour of the museum, return to the hotel in Cholpon-Ata. Dinner and rest after a busy day and a free evening.

  • Day 2
    Karakol

After an early breakfast we will travel the road along the lake to the city of Karakol. We will stop for 1 hour in the Oruktu village for a swimming in the hot springs. Then we will continue our trip to Karakol.

  • Day 3
    Jeti - Oguz

After breakfast at the hotel, check-out and drive to the Jeti-Oguz gorge, a picturesque mountain gorge in Kyrgyzstan, 28 kilometers away to the west of the city Karakol along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul.
The name "Jeti-Oguz" (translated as "seven bulls") came from a chain of weathered red rocks, similar to bulls lying on the ground, and since has become a visiting card of the gorge. The local point of interest is the rock "Broken Heart", near which you can always take incredibly beautiful photos. For extra payment you can ride horses and try traditional food in yurts.
Jeti-Oguz Gorge is the second mountainous place of the Issyk-Kul Reserve and one of the most beautiful places in Kyrgyzstan. For 25 km on both sides of the gorge there are blue spruce trees that are included in the red book of Kyrgyzstan. In the gorge at an altitude of 2200 m there is a Jety-Oguz resort known for its healing geothermal springs. Departure to Bokonbaevo, on the way you will visit the holy place of "Mandjyly-Ata". The fame of Mandjyly-Ata, acquired at the end of the 17th century, is explained by the mention in the epic of "Manas" as a sacred place of the Kyrgyz. "Mandjyly-Ata" is a whole valley, which is a whole labyrinth of shallow gorges between clay hilly steppes and healing springs. Researchers call these places natural geo-anomalous zones, and are widely considered to be a places where cosmic energy is concentrated. After that we will go to the Gorge "Skazka". Gorge "Fairy Tale" - an amazing place where natural sandy red formations create many fairy-tale forms. Walking along this gorge during the holiday in Issyk-Kul brings not only aesthetic pleasure, but also a sense of unity and majesty with nature. Use caution please, you should take every step as not to disturb the creation of the Creator! There you will see a canyon called the "Chinese Wall" 5 kilometers long, it seems to guard the world of sleeping castles and amazing animals created by nature itself from red clay and sandstone - elephants, hippos, snakes and some fantastic creatures.
In the evening we will arrive at the guest house/yurt camp in the village of Bokonbaevo - dinner and free time.

The festival is based on the concept of "tradition for the future." The festival program includes: exhibition of hunting birds (e.g., golden eagles, falcons, etc.), traditional horse games, folklore dancing and music, yurt construction, and exhibitions by local artisans.
