Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Song-Kul

Our guide will meet you at the airport or pick you up from the hotel. You will start you tour directly from it.
Your first stop will be the Burana Tower - the ancient silk road minaret, which is a heritage of UNESCO and Kyrgyzstan nowadays. You will have the chance to climb the 25 meters Tower, to see the surrounding area from the Top. Silk Road Caravans used to stop here to rest as the center of the Balasagun city, which was established by the Karakhanids at the end of the 9th century.
The whole complex consist of the mausoleums, castle foundation and grave markers (balbals, located around and were created by the ancient Turkic tribes). The small museum as part of the complex contains historical information and artifacts found at the site and in the surrounding region. Visiting this historical site will help you to move into the atmosphere of the 12th century and see firsthand the most ancient artifacts.
Lunch you will have in the cafe on the road.
After you will continue the trip through the Boom Gorge, which is a kind of a thread that connects three regions - Chui, Issyk-Kul and Naryn. On the way you can enjoy watching beautiful views of high mountains - somewhere steep and rocky, as well as the rapid flow of the Chu River.
Lunch in the cafe on the road. You will stop also in Kochkor village to visit openbazaar there, as we recommend you to buy whatever you will need during few days: snacks, drinks and etc.
You will also have a few photo-stops: at Reservoir Orto-Tokoy and Mountain springs for water testing. If you are lucky on the way you will meet the wild cows - yaks.
The destination of the first day will be the mountain lake Son-Kul. The road to the final destination will take about 6-7 hours with all stops from the start point. The lake lies on the Tian Shan mountains plain surrounded by meadows (jailoo). You will arrive there in the evening. You will stay in the Yurt-Camp for overnight to try the nomadic style and Kyrgyz culture.
Before Dinner you will have some time to enjoy walking towards or along the shore of the lake, as well as watching sunset.
By the way you have a chance to watch the Kyrgyz Folklore performance for the Dinner.
You will also be offered to try the life-giving drink from mare's milk "Kymyz", made by the local people. On the Son - Kul, because of the fantastically untouched nature, the purest air, aromatic and fragrant herbs, crystal clear glacial water, Kymyz turns out to be the best, with a whole bouquet of aromas. Just to note mare's milk contains 10 times more vitamins than cow's milk, so there will be some recommendations on its consumption.
Kymyz recommended to drink: usually immediately before meals or in an hour after it. Kymyz contains useful bacteria that positively affect the intestinal microflora.
Kymyz not recommended to drink to people suffering from acute diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, stomach ulcers and duodenal ulcers, as well as allergy to dairy products and intolerance to lactose.
Free time and overnight stay at Yurt Camp.

  • Day 2

    Bokonbaevo

After breakfast, you will have a horse riding tour along the Song-Kol Lake for about 1-2 hours. Local people live and graze their livestock on the meadows (jailoo) around the lake. You will taste the wilderness and freedom of nomadic life here.

You will be driven to the south shore of Issyk-Kul lake, which is the world's second-largest alpine lake after Lake Titicaca in South America. There are plenty of legends connected with the lake. You will have the chance to listen some of them.
You will stay in a yurt camp or guest house in Bokonbayevo on arrival. (depends on your choice). Bokonbaevo is a picturesque village on the southern shore of the lake Issyk-Kul, which is the center of ecological tourism in Kyrgyzstan. Along the south shore of Issyk-Kul there are a lot of historical, sacral and natural sightseeing. This area is also famous because of rich culture and customs of Kyrgyz people. for example, in the village Kyzyl-tuu there are famous Yurt building workshops, village Tamga famous because of Japanese prisoners, Bokonbayevo itself is a cultural center for famous berkutchi - eagle hunters..
You will have the chance to meet experienced berkutchi, who will share the story of hunting with golden eagles, their habits and features.

  • Day 3

    Bishkek

After breakfast, you will go to the Canyon Skazka (Fairytale). A canyon is an amazing place where sandy red formations take various fabulous forms.
Soft rocks of different shades are very flexible to the action of external forces. After the next rain, the relief of the Fairytale can really change noticeably. And shades of colors on the slopes of the canyon can change dramatically and with strong gusts of wind. Moreover, staying in the Fairytale with complete calm and clear skies from morning till night, the observer every hour will discover new details of the landscape. They will be differently illuminated by the movement of the sun in the sky and the movement of shadows on the ground.
Walking along this gorge during the rest on Issyk-Kul brings not only aesthetic pleasure but also unity with nature. You take every step with care so as not to disrupt the creation of the Creator. These blocks impress with their uniqueness and grandeur.
You will see a canyon called "China Wall" with a length of 5 kilometers, it seems to guard the peace of sleeping castles and amazing animals created by nature itself from red clay and sandstone - elephants, hippos, snakes and some very unseen animals.
Also you will visit the Barskoon waterfall. You will do hiking to the waterfall for about 20-30 mins, on the way you will see the Yuri Gagarin Monument, as a symbol that he has been here. You will have the chance to make beautiful photos of the mountainous forest, waterfall, and mountains themselves.
