Burana tower & Issyk - Ata
We invite you to join our one-day tour - the excursion to Burana tower & swimming in the Issyk-Ata thermal springs!
The Burana tower - today is the heritage of UNESCO and Kyrgyzstan as one of the Great Silk Road sight. Burana itself is a tower-minaret, was built in the 10th-12th centuries under the Karakhanids. You will have an unforgettable excursion in the entire complex territory, visiting the museum and a panoramic view from the Tower itself. Concerning the tower, you will also learn some legends regarding the meaning of the symbols on the walls and stone monuments around the area. In addition to the tower, you will also be able to see the balbals (stone gravers) that are located around and were created by the ancient Turkic tribes. This whole trip around the territory will help you to move into the atmosphere of the 12th century and see firsthand the most ancient artefacts.
After Burana excursion, you will go to the Issyk-Ata gorge. There are the famous Issyk-Ata hot hydrogen sulfide springs, the ancient image of Buddha and many other sights. In the 12th and 14th centuries, the gorge was the cradle of Buddhism in the region, thanks to which now Issyk-Ata is not just a unique nature area, but also a place with its unique history. There is also famous resort, which was created during the USSR and still has its atmosphere and symbolism there.
There you can taste the mineral water called "Arashan", as well as swim in the hot thermal springs (private pool). Depends on the season you can also walk towards the Gorge famous waterfall. We highly recommend this tour also during winter time, as it is just beautiful around with everything snow covered and amazing experiencing swimming in the hot springs under the open sky, when the temperature outside is minus.
